Daniel Weah

Daniel Weah, a 26-year-old young man known as Game Boy, was born on September 10, 1996, and resides in the New Kru Town Community, Bushrod Island, Monrovia, with his mother. He is one of five boys among his mother’s children, and they depend on her daily food sales for their sustenance, which brings in a modest profit of $1 to $2 USD per day.

About five years ago, Daniel’s life took a dark turn when he befriended a Nigerian national named John, who presented himself as someone in need of help. Moved by the Nigerian man’s story of homelessness, Daniel convinced his mother to let John stay with them. However, little did Daniel know that this decision would lead him down a destructive path.

Daniel’s curiosity grew when he noticed John’s strange behavior, red eyes, and excessive energy. One day, John introduced Daniel to harmful drugs at the beach, and since that moment, Daniel has struggled to break free from the grip of addiction. Sadly, John later betrayed Daniel, stealing from him and disappearing without a trace.

Despite his mother’s efforts to dissuade him from drug use, Daniel found himself unable to quit. His addiction caused him to fall seriously ill, leading to his withdrawal from school at the Samuel Slewion Doe Memorial Institute (SSDMI) while he was in the 11th Grade. He was diagnosed with a chronic illness and spent six months hospitalized at Redemption Medical Hospital in New Kru Town. Thanks to his mother’s unwavering support, Daniel recovered in 2019, but his battle with drugs continues.

Daniel’s former classmates have moved forward with their lives, completing high school, attending college, or finding success in business. This stark contrast leaves him feeling ashamed, and he yearns to leave drugs behind and return to a normal life.

Despite his struggles, Daniel has dreams of becoming a chef and learning tailoring. He desperately wants to return to school, but breaking free from the shackles of addiction remains a challenging task. He seeks urgent help to detoxify his body and overcome this destructive habit.

Daniel’s journey is filled with obstacles, but with the right support and assistance, he believes he can reclaim his life and achieve his aspirations of a brighter and drug-free future.
